Norma Linares

Community Health Promoter

Norma Linares is a graduate of the Esperanza Community Housing Corporation’s Health Promoters Training Program class of 2003. Upon graduation she began her internship with the Healthy Homes Project conducting home visits in the South-Central Los Angeles area.

In 2005, she began working for the Harbor Corridor Best Babies Collaborative as an outreach worker and later became a Case Manager for women with a high-risk pregnancy.

She continues her education by attending different training courses. She is certified in Comenzando Bien, Tomando Control de su Salud, Salud y Sabor en la Cocina Latina, PIPE Curriculum, Sweet Success and as a Lactation Education Counselor.

In 2009, Mrs. Linares was awarded the “Promotora de Corazon” award which is given by Promotores de Salud to honor the dedication, mentorship, and commitment to aspiring Promotores de Salud. In 2013, she began to work on the Esperanza -Lanterman program pilot, which is now a funded program supporting FDLRC families to learn about services and explore those they could benefit from.
