Nancy Halpern Ibrahim

Nancy Halpern Ibrahim, MPH, has been Esperanza’s Executive Director since November 2006.  She joined Esperanza in 1995 and as the founding Director of Health Programs, she designed Esperanza's Community Health Promoter program that has become a nationally recognized model of community health that has cultivated a cadre of more than 700 Promotores. 

Ms. Ibrahim received her Master of Public Health degree from UCLA and has worked as a social justice activist in the field of women’s health and development for the past thirty years.  Prominent awards she has received include the 2015 UCLA Community Service Award for her dedication to improving the health of low-income families in Los Angeles and the 2006 Helen Rodriguez-Trias Award for Excellence in Community-Based Women’s Health Leadership from the California State Office of Women’s Health.
