Lisbeth Vilchez

Community Health Promoter

I was born in Nicaragua, where I completed my career in International Relations and international business at the Catholic University of Nicaragua.

While working at Ericson, I was a project assistant, which was crucial in successfully implementing a telephone installation project in Nicaragua.

In 2012, I completed the Promotora Program with Esperanza Community Housing after I completed my internship with Occidental College with the class of Public Health and MEND community clinic. In 2014, I worked with Esperanza Community Housing in the Nutrition Education Program ( NEOP), teaching classes in schools, churches, and parks for parents in the south and east of Los Angeles—program with the Department of Public Health.

I started working in the Esperanza Lanterman program in 2017. We work with Latino families with special needs who are referred by the Frank Lanterman Regional Center. We support services for the client and family, such as regional center services or through school and medical. As a Promotora, nothing brings me more joy than sharing and supporting my work with my community and family. I am passionate about my work's impact on the lives of those around me and committed to making a positive difference. Let me continue to spread my message and bring hope to those who need it most.
